Integrated Carbon Observation System (ICOS) is a European Research Infrastructure for quantifying and understanding of the greenhouse gas balance of the European continent and of adjacent regions.

The workshop will cover all ICOS themes from ecosystems to atmospheric topics. ICOS-Finland covers meals, refreshments and special program during the workshop. Special program includes visit to the Puijo ICOS-station, workshop dinner and the world's largest smoke sauna experience.

Accommodation should be booked directly from Spa Hotel Rauhalahti (myynti@rauhalahti.fi). A quarenteed block of 30 rooms has been reserved (until 31 March) to the ICOS-participants (group price for double room 118eur/day and single room 104eur/day). Refer to ICOS when booking.

Guest speakers include Director General Werner Kutsch (ICOS Head Office), Prof. Martin Heimann (Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry), Dr. Leonard Rivier (Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l'Environnement) and Prof. Eeva-Stiina Tuittila (University of Eastern Finland). Language of the meeting is English.
